Deborah Heiner - The Writings of a Navy Dependent
Deborah Heiner is the daughter and spouse of Navy Chiefs, giving her deep insight into military life, which shapes her writing. She holds degrees in Legal Studies and Criminal Justice and manages a legal department at a Naval training command. She’s working on her first crime novel about a murder on a Naval base and a collection of Navy-themed romance stories. As the mother of two autistic teenagers, Deborah values diverse perspectives and explores themes of spirit and connection in her work. At sixteen, when both her parents became disabled, she took on the role of primary financial contributor. She found comfort and escape in storytelling, a practice that continues to fuel her passion for portraying emotionally grounded and powerful narrative characters.
